Which rate does KeepRates show? +

The headline number is the Telegraphic Transfer (TT) buying rate — what a bank pays you for inward USD (remittances, freelance income). It's the rate that matters most when you receive dollars. TT selling and the spread are shown alongside.

How often are rates updated? +

Rates are scraped from each bank's public exchange-rate page several times a day. Each rate is timestamped, and you can see "updated" times on the Today and Bank detail pages.

Are these official rates? +

No. They are collected automatically from public pages and may lag or differ from what a branch quotes. We are not responsible for these rates — this site is for informational purposes only. Always confirm on the bank's own website before any transaction.

How is the tax-year average calculated? +

For each month we record every trading day's TT buying rate and report the month's maximum, minimum and average. The Sri Lankan tax year runs April to March. Export to CSV for your records — but confirm the correct method with the IRD or your accountant.

Will you add more banks or currencies? +

More banks are planned. USD/LKR is the focus for now; other currencies may follow based on demand. Suggest a bank via the links below.
